 It seems that many obese people will tell you that part of what kept them from losing weight was eating on the go... Fast food and food that can be eaten while driving your car are not usually the most nutritious choices available. It is sometimes said that a person who cooks will adapt to the WLS lifestyle much easier as you can change what doesn't suit your tastes/needs. For this reason, many WLS post-ops are recipe hounds! We crave flavor and variety and this just isn't as readily available when you depend on frozen entrees and food that can be bought at restaurants. When you take a recipe and make it your own....that is living! Many of the following recipes are new versions of old favorites... Just because a food was your favorite while you were obese does not mean you can no longer enjoy it. But, it may need some adaptation to make it more suitable for your new eating style. It helps to look over recipes from other WLS post-ops so that you can see what they are eating and perhaps get ideas for things you can add to your meal plan. For example, a pork stew recipe with crockpot cooking instructions will be listed on the Crockpot Recipes page even though it would also qualify to be listed on the Soups, Stews, Chili and Other One-Pan Meals page.
